Jul 18 (Mon) Los Lunes con Lisa (D4)

(randy.wendell@verizon.net)

This is probably going to be a hot day and we’re going to beat the heat by walking in the Blue Ridge Tunnel.  And to make things even better, Mike Shelor has graciously agreed to lead us through the tunnel while providing an interesting talk about the area’s geology.  Be sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp because the tunnel is completely dark!  Also, the temperature in the tunnel stays around 50-degrees so you might need an extra layer of clothing.   We’ll walk about 4 miles so bring a little water and possibly a light snack.  After the walk, for those interested, we’re going to dine at the Blue Mountain brewery.  We’re meeting at the Oilville park-and-ride (just off of I-64 at exit 167) at 8:00 AM. There’s no need to RSVP, but you can contact Randy (randy.wendell@verizon.net) for more information.
