Please make your plans to attend the next club meeting at the Tuckahoe Library on Tuesday, January 14th, beginning with socializing at 6:30. The meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm. Our business meeting will include a vote on changes to the club's Articles of Incorporation required for the club's approval as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our guest speaker will be Conner McBane from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC). Although Conner is ATC’s resident expert on vegetation along the trail, his presentation will focus on recovery efforts following the unprecedented devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and other recent storms. This includes what has been done, lessons learned and plans for natural resource management in upcoming years. He is sure to provide us with valuable insights!
Conner grew up in the Roanoke area and has loved being close to the A.T. He has a degree in environmental studies from Roanoke College.
