Bill Tennant (Willyten10@aol.com or (804) 282-0590) The weatherman says we get a break in the weather so let’s go for a walk in the woods. This is a nearly level 7.3 mile loop at Powhatan State Park, one of the best-in-the-US Virginia State Parks. This one has open fields, wooded paths, a walk along the James, an old cemetery, an old cabin ruin, and the horses even make a contribution. Moderate pace-start at 9, done by noon. I’m planning to pack a lunch and enjoy the outdoors in the nearby picnic pavilion after the hike. Modified COVID restrictions- no Club sponsored car pools, social distancing, no masks required, but certainly allowed. No need to contact me before the hike. Just show up a few minutes before 9 for sign-in. Pay a small fee at the gate if you don’t have a pass and meet at the first recreation area (picnic area, playground and restrooms) on the right. Powhatan State Park is located about 2 miles west of Route 522, south of the James, and north of Route 60. Contact Bill for questions or more specific directions. Hope you can join me.
