Nov 10th (WED) PRIVATE PROPERTY HIKE EAST OF CHARLOTTESVILLE D/4

Bert Norfleet (804-291-6431) (bertathiker@gmail.com)

This is a new hike to ODATC Members and is on 400 acres of private property east of Charlottesville. The location is in the Keswick area and  is about a 10 minute drive west of Zions Crossing off I-64. This hike is approximately 5 miles long and will go through mildly hilly forest on established trails. Majority of this hike will be through hardwoods and pines but we will be hiking by some streams and sections of Cedar trees. We will also pass by a cabin with access to a flush toilet. This hike is considered moderate difficulty as there are some ups and downs and some of the trails may be a little muddy.

The plan is to meet at the Oilville Park and Ride at exit 167 off I-64 at 9:00 AM and from there we can carpool to the property. Driving time to the property is approximately 40 minutes. At the end of the hike lunch options include a 15-minute ride into Charlottesville or going back to Zion Crossing.  Bring water.
