Contact Art Ritter (o2behiking@yahoo.com) if interested. Limited to 12 people. It's a nice time of year for hiking in the mountains, and there should be one last chance to see some beautiful foliage. In this 9.2 mile circuit with 1,980 feet of elevation gain, we'll reach the highest point in the park: Hawksbill, with it's 270 degree views. There are a couple stream crossings in the first half of the hike, which will be a pleasant forest hike. About two thirds of the elevation gain will be in the second half of the hike. Contact Art to register and for meet-up information. While this is is not a short hike, and there is lots of elevation, we'll go at a mellow pace and make sure that no one gets left behind. Because of the time change and a club meeting that night, I am looking at a 7AM start at the park and ride (although it will kind of feel like 8:00)
