January 19 (Wednesday) Rockwood Park - N. Chesterfield D/4
Ted McGarry (804-218-1238). Rockwood Park is Chesterfields' park with the most extensive trail network and makes for an excellent Wednesday hike in a rustic suburban woodland and pond setting. Our hike will use a web of mostly earthen trails with some paved sections. Rockwood is located at 3401 Courthouse Road (Rte 653) and Hull St. Rd (US 360) in close-in North Chesterfield 23236. Access from RVA is least congested using the Powhite Parkway and Courthouse Rd. exit, then travel toward US 360. Look for Rockwood Park Apartments sign on the right, park entrance is on the left. Restrooms available.
Meet at the parking area opposite the Park Office. Note WINTER HOUR START 1:00 pm.
