Ted McGarry (804-218-1238). The traditional first hike for the 2022-23 Wednesday hike season is Maymont. The hike will include a part of Byrd Park to get a two hour hike. Maymont is the #2 activity in RVA on Trip Advisor. VMFA is first. The Maymont Foundation has received a multi-million dollar grant for renovation of the Mansion, park facilities and lands. Maymont needs to raise a two million dollar match. Since there is no admission fee, it would be appropriate for each hiker to offer a five dollar donation to support this Richmond institution. The bears and I thank you. Meet at the Spottswood Rd entrance off Park Drive which is the road name on the north side of the Boulevard Bridge (Nickel Bridge for old timers).
