Bill Tennant (willyten10@aol.com or (804) 814-5570) Ooh, I can feel the cool mountain air and hear the leaves crunching on the trail. This Shenandoah National Park loop hike starts with a few miles on the Appalachian Trail then down to Hoover Camp for lunch on the President’s back porch. Then it’s up the trail along a mountain stream. At 7.7 miles and 1200 feet of elevation, it is suitable for anyone who is into walking or hiking. With a deliberate pace we should finish the hike about 2-3 and be back in the Richmond area by 4-5. Bring water, lunch, $10 gas money and your usual positive mental attitude.
