Dec 21 (Wed) Oregon Hill Overlook to Potterfield Bridge

Tim Gilbert (804-304-8841) and Ann Lankey (804-338-1771) will lead a hike of about five miles on December 21, 2022 at 9:50 A.M. We will begin at the Oregon Hill Overlook located near the intersection of South Laurel Street and Oregon Hill Parkway. Park on the street. We will use the pedestrian bridge under the Lee Bridge to reach Belle Isle, hike around the west end of the island, and cross over to the south bank. We will head west to the 22nd Street tower, go up to the Buttermilk Trail, and head east to the Potterfield Bridge. From Brown’s Island we will follow the Canal Walk to the Christopher Newport Cross and then head home on East Byrd Street.

The construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including the Appalachian Trail between Reids Gap and Rockfish Gap.

The provision of excursions on such trails or other areas.

Offering educational activities related to the need for preserving the great outdoors.
