Ted McGarry (804-218-1238). The hike is on a remote section of the Appomattox River beginning at the foot of the Brasfield Dam (Lake Chesdin) and parallels the river for a 3.1 mile loop. Trail map at chesterfield.gov/920/trail-systems. No rest rooms. The distance to the trailhead is 31 miles and 45 minutes from the Willey Bridge in western Henrico going through Chesterfield Courthouse, or use I-95 through Colonial Heights. Either way, end up on River Rd look for Rte 669 Chesdin Rd (see blue sign for Appomattox River Water Authority). Use GPS to 21501 Chesdin Rd Petersburg VA 23803 meet at 9:50 AM.
