FOUNDERS DAY and -TRAILS AT MONTICELLO

We will meet at 8:00am at the Monticello-Saunders Trail Kiosk at the Rt 53 Parking Lot. (If this Lot is full there is a 2nd Parking Lot on Rt 20 heading toward Charlottesville with a Trail to the Kiosk)  After a 2 mile walk to the  Monticello Visitor Center (Restrooms, Café, and free Museum) we will enter the grounds around 9:30 for the Founders Day Celebration on the West Lawn (10-11am)  YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER TO ATTEND at monticello.org   (events/calendar) This is a FREE registration which allows attendance to the  Celebration and access to the grounds but not entrance into the House. After the Celebration you can wander the grounds and have Lunch at the Farm Table Cafe or Picnic Grounds.  We will then meet at 12:15 at the Slave Cemetery for a 3 to 5 Mile Walk through the Monticello- Saunders Trail System before returning to our Cars. Limit 8 and no dogs for this hike. (Information on the Trails can be found at monticello.org )
