Bill Tennant (Willyten10@aol.com or (804) 814-5570) Time to get back into the mountains and visit the scenic Hazel River area. This one is 9.2 miles wth 2100 feet of elevation. Not a beginner's hike, but good for those looking for some exercise and the fresh outdoors of Shenandoah National Park in the springtime. We cross the Hazel River and its tributaries a few times-usually a rock-hopping exercise, but you might want to pack some water shoes just in case or if you want to cool off during the hike. This hike is in the northern part of the Central section . Combine that with a MODERATE pace (I'm looking at you Randy) means we will be gettng a little earlier start than usual and will be getting back to Richmond by 5 or so. Optional stop for dinner on the way home for those who care to eat before they get back to Richmond . Contact Bill for start time, meeting location and questions.
