18 Oct (Wed) Appomattox riverfront
Tim Gilbert (804-304-8841) and Ann Lankey (804-338-1771) will lead a hike along the Appomattox riverfront in Hopewell. We will pass St. John’s Episcopal Church, which dates to the mid 1800’s, and head down to City Point, which was General Grant’s headquarters during part of the Civil War. We will stop at Old City Point Waterfront Park and then head back up the hill. The hike will finish at City Park with a stroll along the boardwalk on the Appomattox River.
Meet at 9:50 at the Appomattox Regional Library parking lot, 209 E. Cawson Street, Hopewell.
Registration is not necessary.
