If you're looking for the general discussion forum and wondering why you can't find  it you aren't losing it...I've moved the topics down under the members only forum.  This seems to be the only way to prevent all the junk postings from getting posted.

Feel free to comment or offer suggestions for improvements.

    Thank you.

Check out the latest ODATC mileage update that represents the mileage for all ODATC events since last January (and only for ODATC members). (Note that you must sign in in order to access this information under the members only section of the site.)

So far this year we've had 102 of our members participate on at least 1 hike and our grand total mileage for members on ODATC sponsored hikes is 3,140 miles, which isn't too shabby.
Thanks Randy for putting this together.  Hike leaders if you haven't turned in your sheets to Randy please bring them to the next club meeting in November.

A group of us met at the Rockville Park & Ride Sunday, May 1, to do some section maintenance & it was quite a shock to see "Park & Ride Closed" on a portable sign between the exit and the lot. Fortunately, the closure didn't start until the next day so we were able to park there. Any groups planning to meet at the P & R over the next 10 days or so will have to find another place to park .... the sign says "use alt. parking" but doesn't give specific alternatives. Our little group was speculating as to what sort of work might be done on the P & R that would require a closure of this length & we all have our fingers crossed that maybe it will be paved (?) ... some of those potholes in the lot are getting a bit deep!

Want to know who’s hiking on ODATC trips?  How about 42 members participating in at least 1 ODATC hike for a total of 400 miles since January!!!  Leading the pack is Bill Tennant with five ODATC hikes and 30 miles so far this year.  On his heels are Janet Bailey and Ken Baker with 26 miles each, and Jim Hunt with 25 miles. By the way, Ken Baker had at least a dozen crazy backpackers for the Paul Wolfe Shelter Freezeree in January.  If you didn’t go, you missed out on Robert Duesberry’s family secret “Possum Stew” cooked over the fire, and the birthday cake for Beth Kirwin, Janet Johnston and Aseeyah Abdul-Karim.  Congrats to Janet Bailey, Renata Manzo and Aseeyah Abdul-Karim on their first January backpack trip!!”

Stay tuned.  The complete list will be posted shortly under the members only menu.
